Synopsis: Les saisons passent, rien ne change : paysages enneigés, brumeux, noyés sous la pluie... Aucune trace de civilisation, mis à part Jake, un vieil homme barbu, qui vaque à ses occupations avec minutie. Jake ne parle pas, écrit parfois dans un carnet. Autour de lui, perdu au milieu d'une forêt, son domaine se constitue d’une vieille maison en pierre, d’une caravane, d’une profusion d'objets rouillés et de quelques photos, bribes de sa vie passée. Souvent, Jake part en vadrouille, s'allonge dans les herbes hautes, dérive en radeau sur un lac et s'oublie jusqu'à se fondre dans la nature.
